Terms
Palliwa Terms of Service
Effective date: 2026-11-01
Article 1 (Purpose)
These Terms set out the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of [name] (the "Company") and users in connection with the use of the Palliwa service (the "Service") operated by the Company.
Article 2 (Description of the Service)
- The Service is a purchasing agency service. When a foreign visitor staying in the Republic of Korea orders daily necessities or travel items online, the Company purchases those items from domestic online retailers on the user's behalf and has them delivered to the accommodation address designated by the user. The Company is not the manufacturer or seller of the goods. It purchases and arranges delivery of the goods on the user's behalf, as entrusted by the user.
- As a mail-order business operator under the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. (「전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률」), the Company bears the obligations prescribed by that Act. Upon the user's request, the Company will provide information about the seller from which the goods were purchased.
- The Company does not manufacture goods or hold them in inventory. The quality, specifications, expiration dates, and other details of the goods are as indicated by the manufacturer and seller of the goods.
- Prices displayed on the Service include the cost of purchasing the goods, the delivery fee, and the Company's purchasing agency fee. No additional charges are incurred at payment. The purchasing agency fee is displayed as an amount on the Service screen at the time of order.
Article 3 (User Eligibility and Non-Member Orders)
- The Service may be used without creating an account. When placing an order, the user must provide an accurate name, email address, and accommodation information.
- The user must be 19 years of age or older, or a minor who has obtained the consent of a legal representative.
- Order status updates and all notices are sent to the email address entered by the user. The user bears any disadvantage resulting from an incorrectly entered email address.
Article 4 (Orders and Formation of Contract)
- An order is received when the user confirms the order details and completes payment.
- The Company may refuse to accept, or may cancel, an order in any of the following cases. In such cases, the Company will refund the full amount paid.
- The delivery location is outside the delivery area, or delivery to the accommodation address is not possible
- Delivery cannot be made before the check-out date entered by the user
- The item is out of stock and no substitute item can be provided
- The transaction cannot be regarded as legitimate, such as where false information has been provided or payment is fraudulent
- Orders for which payment has not been completed are automatically canceled after 30 minutes.
Article 5 (Prices and Payment)
- All amounts are charged in Korean won (KRW). Amounts displayed in foreign currencies are for reference only and are based on that day's exchange rate. The amount actually charged may vary depending on the exchange rates and fees of the user's card issuer or payment service.
- Payments are processed through an electronic payment gateway provider contracted by the Company. The Company does not store the user's payment method information, such as card numbers.
- Even if the price of an item changes after payment is completed, the amount of an order already received will not change.
Article 6 (Delivery)
- As a rule, orders for which payment is completed before the order cutoff time will arrive at the accommodation the next day. Orders placed after the cutoff time will arrive the day after that. The cutoff time is displayed on the Service screen.
- Delivery is made directly by the courier to the accommodation address entered by the user. The user must ensure that the parcel can be received according to the receiving method selected at the time of order (at the door, at the front desk, etc.).
- The Company is not responsible where delivery cannot be completed for reasons attributable to the user, such as an error in the address entered by the user, the accommodation's refusal to accept parcels, or the user's absence. However, the Company will decide, in consultation with the user, whether to redeliver or issue a refund.
- Delivery may be delayed for reasons beyond the Company's control, such as natural disasters or circumstances of the courier. The Company will notify the user of any such delay by email.
Article 7 (Substitute Items)
- If an ordered item is out of stock, the Company may send a substitute item of equivalent grade, provided that the user consented to substitution at the time of order.
- If the user did not consent to substitution, or if no substitute item is available, the Company will refund only the amount for that item and deliver the remaining items.
- If a substitute item is sent, the Company will notify the user by email.
Article 8 (Cancellation, Withdrawal of Offer, and Refunds)
- Under Article 17 of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc., the user may withdraw the offer within 7 days from the date of receiving the goods. However, withdrawal is restricted in the cases set out in paragraph (2) of that Article (such as where the goods have been damaged for reasons attributable to the user, or where their value has clearly decreased due to use).
- If the goods received differ from what was displayed or advertised, or if the contract was performed differently from its terms, the user may withdraw the offer within 3 months from the date of receiving the goods, or within 30 days from the date the user became aware of that fact.
- Before the Company purchases the goods, the user may cancel the order at any time, and the Company will refund the full amount.
- Detailed procedures for cancellation, withdrawal of offer, and refunds, the allocation of return costs, and the timing of refunds are governed by the separate Refund Policy. The Refund Policy forms part of these Terms.
Article 9 (Obligations of Users)
Users must not engage in any of the following acts.
- Misappropriating another person's information or entering false information
- Using the Service for commercial purposes, such as resale
- Interfering with the normal operation of the Service
- Violating applicable laws or public order
Article 10 (Obligations of the Company and Limitation of Liability)
- The Company will make efforts to provide the Service reliably in accordance with applicable laws and these Terms.
- As a purchasing agent, the Company is responsible for the process of purchasing and delivering the goods. Defects in the goods themselves will be handled by refund or redelivery in accordance with the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. and the Refund Policy.
- The Company is not liable for damages caused by reasons attributable to the user, or for any loss of revenue or profit the user expects to obtain through the Service.
- The Company's liability for damages is limited to the amount paid for the relevant order. However, this limit does not apply where the damage is caused by the Company's intentional misconduct or gross negligence.
Article 11 (Protection of Personal Information)
The Company protects users' personal information in accordance with applicable laws and the Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy is posted on the Service screen.
Article 12 (Amendments to the Terms)
- The Company may amend these Terms to the extent that doing so does not violate applicable laws.
- When amending these Terms, the Company will post a notice on the Service screen starting 7 days before the effective date. Changes unfavorable to users will be announced 30 days in advance.
- Amended Terms apply from the announced effective date. Orders already received are governed by the Terms in effect at the time of the order.
Article 13 (Governing Law and Dispute Resolution)
- The laws of the Republic of Korea apply to these Terms and to any dispute relating to the use of the Service.
- These Terms were written in Korean. If there is any discrepancy between the Korean original and a version translated into another language, the Korean original prevails.
- Any dispute relating to the use of the Service shall first be reported to the Company by email (support@palliwa.com) for consultation. If no agreement is reached, the dispute shall be brought before the competent court under the Civil Procedure Act (민사소송법).
